My name is Tabitha Hurley, I am a graduate student at DePaul University currently getting my masters in Journalism. I am 25 years old and am from Chicago, born and raised, growing up on the Southside.
I will graduate in June 2012 and hope to find a job at a magazine or online writing and doing social media and some photojournalism, as well. Ideally, I would love to write for a lifestyle magazine and quite possibly travel and write.
Eventually, I would love to get enough knowledge and experience to teach Journalism classes in a high school or college.
Journalism nabbed my attention when I realized it was all about being involved. As a journalist, you are constantly meeting new people, seeing new places and putting yourself out there to become a better, more connected person.
I have served for student and community organizations and I feel that becoming involved with them has not only broadened my horizons as a student but as a multimedia journalist and career seeking person, as well.
